Oral presentation
Domestic violence (also known as domestic abuse, spousal abuse, or intimate partner violence) occurs when a family member, partner or ex-partner attempts to physically or psychologically dominate another. Domestic violence often refers to violence between spouses, or spousal abuse but can also include cohabitants and non-married intimate partners. Domestic violence occurs in all cultures; people of all races, ethnicities, religions, sexes and classes can be perpetrators of domestic violence.
Domestic violence has many forms, including physical violence, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, intimidation, economic deprivation, and threats of violence. Violence can be criminal and includes physical assault (hitting, pushing, shoving, etc.), sexual abuse (unwanted or forced sexual activity), and stalking. Although emotional, psychological and financial abuse are not criminal behaviors in some legal systems, they are forms of abuse and can lead to criminal violence.
Recent attention to domestic violence began in the women's movement, particularly feminism and women's rights, in the 1970s, as concern about wives being beaten by their husbands gained attention. Estimates are that only about a third of cases of domestic violence are actually reported in the United States and the United Kingdom. According to the Centers for Disease Control, domestic violence is a serious, preventable public health problem affecting more than 32 million Americans, or more than 10% of the U.S. population and the Number of murders of women from Spain in 2003-2009 are 315.
Forms of abuse:
Physical violence
Physical violence is the intentional use of physical force with the potential for causing injury, harm, disability, or death, for example, hitting, shoving, biting, restraint, kicking, or use of a weapon.
Sexual violence
Sexual violence is divided into three categories:[citation needed]
1. use of physical force to compel a person to engage in a sexual act against his or her will.
2. attempted or completed sex act involving a person who is unable to understand the nature or condition of the act.
3. abusive sexual contact.
Emotional abuse
Emotional abuse (also called psychological abuse or mental abuse) can include humiliating the victim privately or publicly, controlling what the victim can and cannot do, withholding information from the victim, deliberately doing something to make the victim feel diminished or embarrassed, isolating the victim from friends and family, implicitly blackmailing the victim by harming others when the victim expresses independence or happiness, or denying the victim access to money or other basic resources and necessities.
Economic abuse
Economic abuse is when the abuser has complete control over the victim's money and other economic resources.
Stalking
Stalking generally refers to repeated behaviour that causes victims to feel a high level of fear (Tjaden & Thoennes, 2000).
Domestic violence occurs across the world, in various cultures, and affects people across society, irrespective of economic status. For example in Barbados (30%), in Canada (29%), in Egypt (34%), in New Zealand (35%), in Switzerland (21%), in United States (22%). Some surveys in specific places report figures as high as 50-70% of women surveyed who were ever physically assaulted by an intimate partner.
Another controversy is the level of physical aggression in relationships of men versus women. For example, Martin S. Fiebert examined 219 studies on intimate partner violence and concluded that "women are as physically aggressive, or more aggressive, than men in their relationships with their spouses or male partners".
An opinion essay
I think that the government makes us responsible for the pollution of the planet, because people do not recycle, use too much the car... but the people aren't the most responsible because the people recycle as much as they can we are not going to decontaminate the planet because there are factories that pollute, but bring money to the government as they don't say anithing. The cars are already created so as not to pollute but they don't sell them because they want people to spend money on oil.
A part from that the human species in general is very selfish. Everyone thinks of themselves and don't think about the future that will happen to humans who come after us if we continue destroying the earth in this way.
In conclusion at the moment it is very difficult to correct what we have done, but we showed try not to cause more damage and make people aware of the evil that is the planet where we live, our home.

NEW 3 Former astronaut
Earth Day may fall later this week, but as far as former NASA astronaut Edgar Mitchell and other UFO enthusiasts are concerned, the real story is happening elsewhere. Mitchell, who was part of the 1971 Apollo 14 moon mission, asserted Monday that extraterrestrial life exists, and that the truth is being concealed by the U.S. and other governments.

Older generations socializing more online (2NEW)
While online social networks like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace are known hang-outs for younger adults and teenagers, older generations in recent months have been taking to the medium at a faster rate than any other age group, according to industry reports. The fastest-growing age group on Facebook is women older than 55, Inside Facebook says.
Many of these older folks use social networks to keep tabs on younger family members and they often find fruitful connections with their peers after they've friended all of their kids and grandkids.
There are now about 1.5 million female users older than 55 on the site, the group says -- roughly a 550 percent increase over six months ago. By comparison, membership among people younger than 25 grew by less than 20 percent over the same period, Inside Facebook says.Facebook now says it has 200 million users, making its user base larger than the populations of all the world's countries except China, India, the United States and Indonesia.

At the same time a new blood test has been developed at the Prince of Wales Medical Reseach Institute in Sney wich should be able to determine if someone is going to develop Parkinson's disease years before the symptoms appear. Dopamine-producing neurons starts to degenerate up to twenty years before a person experiences the symptoms of Parkinson's.

Description of a place 2
The palace is one of the neighborhoods of downtown Berlin.
The garden of the palace's great! first there is a main garden where there are many flowers that make drawings on the floor and several sources placed in a sort of roundabout way. To walk through the garden there are three ways: in the middle on the left and on the right. A major part of the garden makes a desnibel and that is why there are ramps and stairs.
The gardens as seen in the photo are beautiful, full of grass and flowers that show a bright green color. There are all kinds of flowers such as the passion flower that I love!
A part of the main gardens which are well decorated, on the sides are forests and mazes. The forest is very large but very well kept. When you are in it you feel very well, you are surrounded by vegetation, and do not see anybody you feel like the queen of everything around you.
The maze is smaller than the forest but scared of missing like in the movies! Within the labyrinth there are squares, fountains and the trees don’t show anything a part of the road.
Throughout the tour of the gardens people can go by bike or walking.
This is my description of a place I hope you like it and that some day you will go to the gardens of which I have spoken, because is a very nice place.

A young British writer, Christian moves to Paris. he encounters a musical troupe that is attempting to present a new play for the owner of the cabaret, the Moulin Rouge. Christian's writing helps to finalize the show and the troupe take Christian to the cabaret to present the work itself to its star courtesan, Satine in private to win her favour. However, the same night, Zidler has arranged for Satine to spend the night with the wealthy Duke who is looking to buy the cabaret. Through for bad communication, Satine mistakes Christian for the Duke, and the two depart to her private chambers. She begins to seduce him despite his insistence he is only there to present his script, but the two slowly realize they have fallen in love with each other. The Duke returns, and discovers Christian and Satine in a compromising position. Satine quickly states that Christian is only there to present a play. With the help of the troupe, Satine, and Zidler, Christian quickly improvises a new plot to "Spectacular! Spectacular!" as a thinly-covered veil of their current situation, with an evil maharajah attempting to woo the love of an Indian courtesan who is actually in love with a poor sitar player. The Duke, unable to see through the show's meaning, agrees to finance the show, but only if he is allowed to continue to see Satine. Unfortunately for the Duke, Satine and Christian continuously make up excuses as to why he can't see her.

description a place:
New: SHORT-CUT TO SAFER SEX
New: FLUSHED WITH PRIDE
Since it was abbounced that the Chinese invented the flush toiled thousands of years ago, Asians have been flushed with pride.
However, the British can still boast another first: the double toilet cublicle. A club in Manchester is the first in the world to install double cublicle in it's toilets wich will alow female club-foers to chat while relieve themselves!
In my opinion is very digusting!!! For me this idea is bad.
Extra discussion essay
On the one hand , to be famous is good because they're making a lot of money, they're travelling, they have a big house with servants... to be famous can open some doors in some places or at work. Well, in general form are outside it is a very good options to be famous. On the other hand, if you are famous is very different because, yes you have a big house, a yatch etc. but the entire world knows your private life and the sensational journalist are pursuing you continually. You have to be as they like because if you do not do that they make you feel very bad with the press.
For example Angelina Jolie in 2000 she was a dark girl and the press criticized her a lot, but at the moment Angelina Jolie is another person because she has six sons and his husband is Brad Pitt. I think that is the same person but for all persons she now better.
In my opinion to be famous is not a good way. I like to be free and if I'm famous I won't be free. I prefer to be myself rather that to be rich but embittered.
discussion essay
I think that there are advantatges and disatvantatges because on the one hand students are not afraid of schools and are more trustful with teacher, I think that the help the atmosphere of study. On the other hand, students are more impolite and the teacher don't have autority. The teachers can't do his/her work because students do whenever they want.
Personally, I believe that this situation is bad for the country because in the future this students will be the police, the judge, the teacher... and if they don't have a good education it will be horrible!!
Frankenstein: Book vs film:
In the film Victor’s mother dies when giving birth to William and in the book dies because of her illness.
The relation of Victor and Henry is different in the book and in the film because. In the film they’ve been friends at the university and in the book they have been friends since they were children.
Apart from that, in the book Victor has two brothers Ernest and William. However, in the film Victor has one brother, William.
We also observed that in the film Victor’s mother gives a diary to Victor but not in the book. Furthermore, in the film there is an epidemic smallpox.
In the book, the laboratory of Victor Frankenstein is far from the island and in the film it is next to the university, in the city.
In the film, when Victor is doing the experiment he receives the visit of Elisabeth.
In both stories, Justine was being accused of William’s murder. In the book she first passes a trial and dies in prison, although in the film she is being hung.
In the book victor make a wife for the creature but he destroyed it because it is horrible. However, regarding the way or duing, In the film, the monster kills Elisabeth pulling out her heart, but in the book, he strangles her. After the dead of Elisabeth Victor gives her life again, but when Elisabeth looks in the mirror she suicide by burning themselves.
Finally, in the film the monster died with his creator and in the book the monster leaves and we don’t know if he died or not.

My friend Anna is a good friend but is a little bite unusual, well if she wasn’t unusual, surely she isn’t my friend.
She is 16 years old, she studies science batxillerat, she is a good student, and she lives in Castelló d’Empúries.
She has a black and short hair, for a woman, his eyes are dark brown, his nose is of a size suitable and his mouth is large with a fairly thick lips.
Anna isn’t very tall… She is like me more less.
When you meet Anna is a shy person and sometimes you feel that she has very bad character, but later is a funny person and well the bad character it depends, she has a very hard character!!
In my opinion she has a good personality. She is competitive and always she likes to be right. She is very intelligent and she is a good listener, when you have a problem she listens to you and gives advice.
We are very similar person, especially the way of thinking. Anna is nice and fun to be at his side, she is a great friend.
